THE HEALING PROPERTIES OF "CORN SILK" NOBODY TOLD YOU ABOUT

Above is "Corn Silk", otherwise known as the "Stigma Maydis" or the shining thread hair like. Corn silk is the shining fibers which is situated at the top of an ear of a corn. Traditional healers dated back have relied upon corn silk for treating various diseases or sicknesses which are still afflicting us today.

SOME MEDICINAL USES OF CORN SILK

✓ treat kidney stones. corn silk since acient age has been used to increase urine flow & help decrease the possibility of cristal formation inside the kidney.
✓ help lower high blood pressure. Corn silk contain Vitamin b6 and a protein called peptide which prevent narrowing & hardening of the arteries.
✓ help treat diabetes. Corn silk contain a compound called polysaccharide which can help increase insulin production in people with type 1 diabetes & also help improve insulin sensitivity for people with type 2 diabetes.
✓ it helps control abnormal weight & obesity. this is due to its diuretic properties thus help reduce unwanted & excess fluid from the body associated with bloating.

PREPARATION OF CORN SILK TEA

* first boil some small quantity of corn silk with 1 cup of water for about 10 minutes.
* secondly cover it in whatever you have boiled it in & let it steam for about approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
* Thirdly allow it to cool, strain & can sweeten it with pure honey (optional) or if not diabetic.
      
DOSAGE

Dosage depends on your body weight & condition but in general recommendation,
* for adults is half cup before meals only in the morning.
* Children 2 years & above 1/4 cup will be fine & only in the morning as well.
