Zainab Ifthikar, 22-year old Sri Lankan, graduated from a prestigious university of medicine in KSA with first honors in MBBS



CONGRATULATIONS!

RIYADH: Zainab Ifthikar, 22-year old Sri Lankan, graduated from the college of medicine at the Alfaisal University College of Medicine with first honors in MBBS (bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery).

Ifthikar was also one of the Master of Ceremonies for the graduation, carrying forth the honor of representing the batch at the ceremony.

The Alfaisal University College of Medicine graduation ceremony was held on the 25th of May in Riyadh under the distinguished patronage of HRH Prince Turky Alfaisal.

This brings the number of Sri Lankans who graduated from Alfaisal to a total of nine. There are currently six more Sri Lankan students in their undergraduate years.

Zainab says that she wishes to pursue a career in Internal Medicine whilst continuing her passion for writing and community service.

She wishes to see more Sri Lankans join the Alfaisal community which she describes as being one of the most life-changing experiences.

Alfaisal is a prestigious university in Saudi Arabia ranked 1st in Saudi Arabia and the Arab region and 9th globally by the Times Higher Education world’s best small universities. It is known for its extensive extracurricular and research opportunities provided for students and is also recognized worldwide, including the Sri Lankan Medical Council. Alfaisal graduates are currently practicing in a multitude of countries, with the United States being a major hotspot for residency programs. [Colombo Times Jun 15 2022]
