Social media pages are sharing that this new gold discovery is a sign of the day of Judgement, but what does the hadith actually say?
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
The Last Hour would not come before the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold, for which people would fight. Ninety-nine out of each one hundred would die but every man amongst them would say that perhaps he would be the one who would be saved (and thus possess this gold).

This hadith and multiple similar hadiths speak about the Euphrates river. Where is the river located?

The Euphrates originates in Eastern Turkey. Where was the recent gold reserve discovered?
The $6bn gold reserve was discovered in Western Turkey. Very far away from the Euphrates.

So this recent discovery has nothing to do with the Prophecy of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
A number of people told me to speak about this whether it was true or not, and I've seen many pages falsely sharing that this was the Prophecy of our Prophet (peace be upon him), so this should clarify that for you In'Shaa'Allah.
The gold was discovered in Sogut in Western Turkey, whereas the Euphrates is in Eastern Turkey. Completely different regions. There is said to be a lot of Gold under Turkey and it is big business there, so we'll probably continue to see more discoveries like this.
Btw this amount of Gold although it is big, it's not the biggest ever found, there are far far bigger gold mines across the world. This isn't that significant considering the size of some of the gold mines across the world. And yes as some have pointed out the Euphrates is drying out, which is one of the signs, it has been drying out for decades now, but this gold reserve is nowhere near the Euphrates river.
And yes I've also heard that theroy of the "gold" being referred to could be the discovery of oil, since there's big oil reserves in all the countries the Euphrates flows through and wars have been founght over it, but Allahu A'lam, I won't make any guesses or make you believe in something I don't know about,
