Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was on a visit to Sri Lanka, was met by members of the Muslim Parliament who crossed the barrier before returning to the country. He also spoke about the crisis faced by the Muslim community, including the cremation of Janaza.
A key member of parliament told that Prime Minister Imran Khan had spoken to the president and prime minister about the funeral and that a positive response would be forthcoming.
Members of the Muslim Parliament had made efforts to meet the Prime Minister of Pakistan who arrived in Sri Lanka on a two day official visit. The meeting took place at the Shangri-La Hotel today. Arrangements for the meeting were made by the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka.
The meeting was attended by Sri Lanka Muslim Congress President Rauf Hakeem, All Ceylon People's Congress President Rishad Bathiudeen, Ali Sabri and MPs Faisal Qasim, Haleem, Hafiz Nasir Ahmed, Tawfiq, Haris, Musharraf, Ishaq Rahman, Mujibur Rahman, Imran Mahm, among others.
