BOKO HARAM ABDUCTS 330+ STUDENTS FROM A SCHOOL IN NIGERIA
When speaking of Boko Haram honestly they are the most confusing and strange groups out there. The leader you see in the picture is Abubakar Shekau, and he is a complete nutcase. If you've watched any of his videos you'd understand, he's just crazy.
It's no wonder you see boko haram popping up on the news now and then killing innocent people and abducting school children like this. According to Nigerian state media Boko Haram has claimed responsibility and the governement is contact with them and carrying out negotiations.
At the time of the kidnapping gunfights broke out between the group and police, 600 students were able to escape as 330+ were taken by the group. Isn't it crazy how more than 300 children can just disappear like this? We're not talking about 5 or 10, but 300 students from a school.
The motivation Boko Haram say for these kidnappings is because they believe that western education is haram. The believe that western education is not from Islam. This is just stupid. There was a period in Islamic history when the Muslim world was the centre of education and learning, and we were leaders in science and maths and all different fields. I very much doubt they were teaching anything in these remote towns and villages that were completely unislamic anyways, usually it's the base subjects that every child needs to learn in this day and age.
But regardless of whatever is taught, there is no justification at all for such an act. And this is likely a Muslim majority school as it is in a Muslim majority state in nigeria. Keep them in your Dua's as negotiations continue for the release of the children.
